Lisa Scott was appointed the new head teacher at Hawick High this week.
She has been acting head since the previous incumbent, Vicky Porteous, stood down in November 2022.
She was a deputy head for several years before that.
A Scottish Borders Council spokesperson said: “Lisa has provided strong and effective leadership, and her appointment to the permanent position will be very welcome across the school community.”
