Park staff doing a ‘tremendous job’t
Praise has been showered on Scottish Borders Council staff for their efforts in tackling fallen leaves in Wilton Lodge Park.
Community Councillor French Wight told Monday’s meeting: “I’m up the park most days, and throughout the winter we’ve had these gales, and the boys in the parks department do a tremendous job keeping the paths clear of leaves.
Festive event’s new location
This year’s community council Christmas event will be held in Oliver Place/ North Bridge Street for the first time, it was revealed at Monday night’s meeting.
As reported in December, the switch from the normal location in Central Square is required as the necessary road closure in the area was unlikely
to be approved amid an anticipated increase in traffic on the High Street to accommodate works on the flood prevention scheme in other parts of the town.
