    The Hawick Paper is this week highlighting growing concerns about the state of the town as a result of Scottish Borders Council’s grass management pilot project.

    Hawick’s elected representatives haven’t been shy in voicing criticism of the reduced cutting regime which has left areas of the grey auld toon such as roadsides, parks, cemeteries and entrances looking overgrown and untidy – not a good look for visitors who may be dissuaded from spending more time, and much-needed money, here.
