A community councillor has said the town’s 3G pitch could become “a white elephant”, amid fresh concerns over increasing hire charges.
Duncan Taylor, who is also a committee member of Hawick Youth FC, made the comment during Monday night’s town council meeting, telling members: “Last year I made a successful funding application for £3,600 [on behalf of Hawick Youth FC], but it is not the way we want to be moving forward.
