    A message from the Queen took centre stage as Netta Fish celebrated her 100th birthday earlier this week. The Teri recalled a remarkable life which saw her experience the horrors of the Blitz in wartime London

    Netta Fish, who celebrated her 100th birthday on Monday, is one of the few people left in the town who can claim to have done their bit for king and country during the Second World War.

    The Teri volunteered for the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS), surprising her parents. Serving as a plotter in the London area during the Blitz, she experienced the bombing first hand.
