    A call has gone out to the UK and Scottish governments to “demonstrate real commitment” to extending the Borders Railway to Hawick and on to Carlisle.

    Issuing the plea was Councillor Watson McAteer following last Thursday’s meeting with the Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Fiona Hyslop.
