
Work on Scottish Borders Council’s case for an extension of the Borders Railway from Tweedbank to Carlisle is officially “under way”.
In an update for elected members at a meeting of the Executive Committee last week, it was heard that the process has begun to deliver a strategic outline business case for trains returning to Hawick and continuing to Carlisle – with a focus on proving the vast social and economic benefits to the area.
