    The decision to end 24-hour cover at the fire station has sparked a furious backlash, with Provost Clair Ramage branding the move “totally unacceptable”.

    Monday saw the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) formally approve the introduction of its new day shift duty system at Howdenbank.
