    Scotland’s long-awaited return to the World Cup sparked jubilant scenes in the early hours of Sunday as Hawick fans joined thousands of travelling supporters to witness a historic first victory on the global stage in 36 years.

    The Boston Stadium in Massachusetts, USA, was a cacophony of noise as the Tartan Army roared Scots to their first World Cup win since Italia 90 when they beat Sweden.
