    Helen Aitken (nee Allan), Cornet’s Lass in 1951, and inset, in more recent times

    Tributes have been paid following the death of former Cornet’s Lass Helen Aitken, who passed away in Australia last week.

    Helen, 95, would have marked the 75th anniversary of her role this year, having led the town’s celebrations alongside the late ex-Cornet George Aitken in 1951.
