    First-timers take the top Uphill Mile titles

    1514 Club president Ross Aitken and Teviotdale Harriers president Rachel Halliday with the big race prize-winners from Tuesday night’s Uphill Mile event.

    Both senior winners in the 1514 Club Uphill Mile on Tuesday night – a Hawick Quins man and an ex-Cornet’s Lass – were competing in the testing event for the first time.

    “It was hard,” agreed winger Sam Bandeen and 2019 Principal, Victoria Campbell, speaking to The Hawick Paper at the finish.
