    ‘There were tears’ when asked to be the Cornet, admits Jack

    Leading the 2025 Common-Riding celebrations is “a dream come true and a massive honour” for Cornet Jack Scott.

    He told The Hawick Paper this week that he couldn’t wait to embrace the role and said he was “really excited” at the prospect of leading the cavalcade through the town.

    The 26-year-old joiner and co-founder of MJS Joinery Ltd is also looking forward to all the historical ceremonies and associated events.
