    Fury over fire crew cuts plan for town

    The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SRFS) is proposing cuts to Hawick fire crews, by replacing 24/7 coverage with nine-to-five office hours Monday to Friday.

    The plans, which are set to go out to consultation, have been branded “preposterous and outrageous” by local ward councillor, Stuart Marshall, who has vowed to “fight” any changes to manning levels.
