HAWICK, MARCH 2025 – ib vogt UK, a leading utility-scale solar developer, is holding a second public consultation for Stirches Renewable Energy Park, a solar and BESS development proposed for land northeast of Hawick Substation.
The event will take place on 3 April at Hawick Town Hall
between 3PM and 7PM. This follows an initial consultation held in November 2024, which was well attended and generated valuable community feedback.
Attendees will have the opportunity to review a more detailed design for the site and find out the results of environmental surveys, including ecology, visual impact, noise, and others.
Chris Peachey, Stirches Renewable Energy Park Lead Planner, commented:

Stirches Renewable Energy Park will comprise up to 30MW solar generation (PV) and 30MW battery storage import (BESS),
generating green energy to power thousands of homes and businesses across Scotland. Located adjacent to Stirches Mains Farm House (TD9 7NR), the development will contribute to the Scottish Government’s renewable energy and net-zero targets for 2045.
