    Center of attraction – £350m holiday complex plan could bring 1,200 jobs

    An extension to the Borders Railway could cater for the expected “substantial increase in vistors” to Hawick, with Center Parcs’ indoor water park likely to be a big draw

    News of holiday village operator Center Parcs’ plans for a £350million resort near Hawick is “nothing short of game-changing” for the local area.

    That’s according to local councillor, Watson McAteer, who was speaking to The Hawick Paper  following Tuesday morning’s announcement of the proposal for a massive 1,000-acre development three miles north of Hawick, which could create around 1,200 jobs.
