    Second Christmas tree’s arrival heralds ‘great festive period’

    The new tree “befits” a town the size of Hawick

    A backlash from Teries appears to have left Scottish Borders Council with no choice but to replace the Christmas tree in Hawick.

    As previously reported, townsfolk were outraged to see the 20-foot fir tree erected in Trinity Gardens last week. It was branded an “embarrassment” amid concerns it was nowhere near tall enough.
