    Re-enactment match set to take Greens back to where it all began

    The earliest photo of the Hawick Rugby team in blue and white hooped jerseys taken in 1877

    A re-enactment of the first rugby match ever to be played in Hawick in 1874 will be take place at the cricket field in Buccleuch Road on Sunday. 

    Dressed in authentic blue and white hooped jerseys and blue knickerbockers, the players will take to the field as part of Hawick’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
