    Bernie faces the ultimate test of stamina and endurance

    While many people make a New Year resolution to give up smoking, alcohol or to lose weight, well-known townsman Bernie Armstrong is doing none of these – but instead has pledged to run three ultra marathons in aid of charities close to his heart.

    There’s one in February, one in April and one in July with Macmillan Borders, Alzheimer’s Scotland and Oliver’s Trust the beneficiaries.
