Tony Stanger had an illustrious rugby career at professional level and with Scotland and the British and Irish Lions, but he will always remember with great fondness where the journey all began in Hawick.
With four brothers – David, Peter, Paul and Michael – and growing up in the Borders, Stanger was more than likely to get involved in rugby at some point and he loved it from a young age.
