Former Conservative branch treasurer Edina Robson was remembered through a cheque presentation to the Friends of Hawick Community Hospital.

Edina and her husband John, who was auditor for many years, were both in their nineties when they died.

“The money was raised at an earlier coffee morning, and we had a super turnout at Saturday’s coffee morning, with John Lamont MP, Rachael Hamilton MSP and councillors George Turnbull and Neil Richards all in attendance,” said branch chairwoman Christine Davidson.

“Donations made at Edina’s funeral were also directed to the Friends of Hawick Community Hospital.

The £150 cheque was presented to Friends chairman John Oliver, who commented: “The funds will go towards replanting of the gardens with autumn bedding plants. The committee appreciate enormously all the support they receive from the public all for the benefit of the patients.”
