    Rachel’s medal-winning role

    Rachel, second from left in the front row of the Scotland team, is delighted with her bronze medal

    Local girl Rachel Shiel was one of the Scotland stars who shone at this year’s School Games, bringing home a bronze medal.

    Former high school deputy head girl Rachel played in all Scotland’s four games at the 2018 School Games  at Loughborough University Campus.

    The 17-year-old told The Hawick Paper: “Playing in the games was definitely the highlight of my hockey career so far.
