    Hawick’s long walk back to happiness attracts hundreds

    Hundreds of visitors are expected to descend on Hawick this weekend for the start of the 24th Scottish Borders Walking Festival.

    Last held in the town in 2011, the event – which gets under way on Sunday and runs until next Saturday, September 8 – is likely to provide a huge boost to the local economy with eateries and accommodation providers throwing open their doors to welcome festival participants.
