Next week Hawick is bidding to be Champion of Champions in this year’s Scottish Borders Council’s Floral Gateway competition, having won the town category in 2017.
It will be going head-to-head with the other main winners from last year, Coldstream, Coldingham and Westruther.
After months of work put in by the small group, they are ready to show the judge what has been achieved and how colourful the town is.
The judge is arriving on Friday, August 10 and will be taken on a two-hour tour of the town. As in previous years, it is to be hoped that Teries will lend their support by having tidy gardens with containers brimming with colour and blooming borders on the route.
