    Young Teries take a treble at capital’s festival of running

    Andy Sobik (sponsor) presents Irvine Welsh with his prize for winning the 800m youth handicap

    They may not quite be “The Three Musketeers” but Hawick youngsters Irvine Welsh, Jai Patterson and Leanna Marshall nevertheless put the opposition to the sword with swashbuckling performances at the City of Edinburgh Running Festival athletics meeting.

    The Teri trio all excelled on the Meggetland track in registering top-notch wins in the Friday evening sunshine.

    Irvine Welsh (185m) was first to get into the winning frame when triumphing in the youths’ 800 metres handicap.
