Finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel for fed-up Silverbuthall residents after an assurance was given that the overgrown hedges blocking paths and spoiling the enjoyment of gardens will be cut back next week.
Scottish Borders Housing Association, which has 187 homes in Silverbuthall, has been criticised for allowing the hedges to “swamp” walkways, and the “nesting season” was a “poor excuse” not to carry out cutting.
