At the community council annual general meeting on Monday night, chairman Ian Turnbull delivered his annual report on how to make Hawick a better place.
Because of the lack of support from local schools for the traditional festive season fancy-dress parade of previous years, the experimental Christmas Event at Trinity Gardens proved to be a resounding success, with some of those involved already requesting to be part of it again this December.
