A month-long mission to complete 100 miles on a cross trainer is set to raise funds for a worthwhile cause.

Lyndy Sword will face the challenge during November in a bid to reach her £300 target for the Border Holiday Group.

Her first-ever trip with the group – as a carer on their holiday to Holland in September – inspired Lyndy to raise money for the commendable cause.

“I had a fantastic time and missed everyone when I got back,” said Lyndy, a former Trinity and high school pupil, who spent 11 years as a dental nurse.

Think Fitness has donated a month’s membership to allow Lyndy to complete her challenge.

A support worker with Streets Ahead, Lyndy is grateful for the support she has already received.

“My neighbour in Mansfield Road, Linda Paton, is going to have a sponsorship form in her shoe shop, and I’d like to thank everyone at Johnstons, where my mother works, for all their sponsorship.

Donations can also be made via MyDonate.
