    Trees to the rear of properties in Atkinson Road will not be cut back unless they are causing safety issues

    There are “no plans” to tackle trees which residents say have been overshadowing their Atkinson Road homes for well over a decade.

    Scottish Borders Housing Association is this week insisting that the trees will only be looked at if they are causing safety issues.

    And tenants’ hopes of having the trees cut to a “manageable height” in a bid to avoid problems such as moss, damp and blocked guttering appear to have been dashed.
