    Before this BT East League Division 2 match began, Gala YM were only a point behind Hawick Linden with a game in hand.

    But the Royal Blues got back to winning ways in convincing style thanks to a ruthless first-half performance which put the game well and truly to bed as they racked up a 36-0 lead by the break.

    It was a very positive response by the Royal Blues following a defeat the previous week. League positions suggested this would be a close game, so putting 50 points on a Gala side certainly exceeded expectations.
