Hawick Harlequins veteran Rikki Kiori starts an attack from the back of a scrum in his side’s 53-17 victory over Portobello FP at Wilton Lodge Park.
The hosts had to borrow shirts from Hawick under-18s due to a colour clash in the BT East League Division 1 fixture, and made a slow start before coming back from 17-15 down to record a resounding win.
“We clicked into gear eventually,” said coach Derek Armstrong.
“We seem to play better against the better teams.”
The Quins are without injured captain Steven Mabon tomorrow, but can keep up the pressure at the top with another win away to second-bottom RHC Cougars in Edinburgh.
