    It has taken a while to happen, 12 games to be exact and it took a trip over the border into England on a Sunday to do the trick.

    After a long wait, Hawick Royal Albert chalked up their first win of the season, and booked a place in the third round of the Football Nation East of Scotland Qualifying Cup in the process.

    With new signings Jamie Clark from Spartans Under- 20s and John McNaught, formerly of Stirling University, in their starting line-up as well as head coach Tweedmouth Rgs 3 Hawick RA 6 Curtis Rose: Double Steven Reynolds taking on a player’s role in the centre of defence, Royalists got off to a flying start by opening the scoring in the seventh minute.
