While out walking her dog, a community councillor spotted potential in an old tree stump – and it will now be transformed into a wood sculpture by Mark Hume.

“Mark Hume, a local tree surgeon and sculptor, who has already created sculptures from stumps in the park, was contacted as a result.
“He says there are huge possibilities.”
The 12ft stump was part of a large tree cut down when its roots were destroyed by fungus, with concerns it could blow over.
“Once we obtain the next round of wind farm funding, we will look at some design ideas.
Whatever is decided as to design for the stump, it will hopefully be enough of a spectacle to draw people into the area.”
