    Hawick Legion blasted their way into the second round of the Border Cup with an easy victory over Melrose.

    Legion broke the deadlock on the quarter hour mark when Scott Duncan buried an Andrew McFarlane cross.

    McFarlane then got his name on the scoresheet by beating the Melrose keeper with a shot on the half volley.

    Legion stretched their lead through another strike from McFarlane, who beat the Melrose offside trap to run in and score.
