Ladies set to Show Racism the Red Card

Hawick United Ladies will be getting behind football’s antiracism charity this weekend when they entertain league leaders Blackburn United.

In their inaugural season, Wullie Frew’s team are bottom of SWFL Division 2 Central with four points from their 18 games.

They have four games left, starting with the daunting prospect at Volunteer Park on Sunday (kick-off 2.30pm) of hosting a Blackburn team who have won 16 and drawn one of their 17 games so far.

Frew said: “It’ll be a tough one to say the least. It’s a case of trying to keep the score down and make it as respectable as we can.”

Both teams will be backing the Show Racism the Red Card charity with a display 15 minutes before kick-off and will wear a sticker on their kit to demonstrate their support for banishing racism in football.

The match ball for the game is being sponsored by the Caspian Takeaway, in Howgate.
