    Stalemate in 16-year fight for road work

    Sixteen years on, Leaburn Drive remains “a nightmare” posing a health and safety risk, according to a local businessman.

    Steve Porter is still pressing for action, but is becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of progress.

    “It is 16 years since the council said they were going to tar the road, and for the last 11 years nobody has done a thing,” said a clearly exasperated Mr Porter.

    “It is an absolute nightmare – my daughter broke her knee a couple of years ago, and I know numerous people who have fallen, including an elderly man.”
