    Hawick’s hockey quintet help South fulfil their goal

    Five Hawick hockey girls helped South District fulfil their goal by finishing third on goal difference in the Under-18 Hockey InterDistrict Tournament in Glasgow last weekend.

    Hollie Grieve, Jenny Sharp, Emma Grieve, Rachel Shiel and Emma Suddon, who all play their club hockey for Fjordus Reivers, travelled to Glasgow National Hockey Centre for the two-day tournament last weekend and enjoyed the experience.

    Satisfied with their results and performance as a team, the girls are now hoping some individuals managed to catch the eye of the Scotland selectors.

    They were watching the action unfold with interest and are expected to hand out invites to some players for trials in the coming weeks.
