Hawick Force travelled the long road to Troon last Saturday to face the only other undefeated side in National Reserve League 2 heading into the game.
The day got off to a bad start with scrum-half Gary Munro pulling out injured before the bus had departed, leaving a squad of 21 to make the trip.
But it was the perfect day for running rugby at Fullerton and so it proved, with the young Teries coming out on top against a Marr side who were boasting the fact they had around five players available who each have over 100 appearances for the 1st XV. If they thought they were in for an easy day’s work, the Hawick boys proved them wrong.
Try scorers for Hawick were Dean McCracken, Murray Renwick and the impressive No8 Andrew Baillie.
McCracken added the rest of the points with his boot, ending the day with an unblemished 100% record from the tee.
