Michael Robertson will concentrate on his coaching duties with Hawick Force after being forced to call time on his playing career due to injury.
The 32-year-old back-row forward, nicknamed Jungle, suffered a neck injury in a match against Melrose in October last year which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
He was unveiled over the summer as a member of the coaching staff for the new-look Greens second XV, named Hawick Force, and has been advised not to attempt a playing comeback for the first XV.
He told The Hawick Paper: “The club doctor told me it wouldn’t be a good idea to make a comeback in case anything worse happened so I came to the conclusion to give up.”
