Townsfolk will be left dismayed this week with the news the opening date for the new £300,000 café at Wilton Lodge Park has slipped yet again.
Originally thought of as the jewel in the crown of the park’s £3.64million regeneration, the café has now become a laughing stock around the town, with Teries despairing over how long this saga will continue.
Scottish Borders Council admitted earlier this week that it would now be February when the café opened for business, with this statement coming just six weeks after the local authority told this newspaper that it would “likely be November” when the café would begin trading.
