    The town has been badly affected by flooding in the past

    The rising cost of the town’s flood prevention scheme – which currently stands at £44million – is justified.

    Hawick Flood Group claim it’s a price worth paying to protect homes and businesses into the next century.

    “Having suffered three major flooding events since 2005 and countless near misses, it is vital that we continue the momentum to deliver this scheme,” explained Hawick Flood Group chair Stuart Marshall.
