    Hawick rugby supporters watched in agony, but hope, as their favourites went down to Ayr last Saturday at Mansfield Park.

    The agony was seeing their team lose their eighth successive BT Premiership match, but hope that new head coach, George Graham, aided by backs coach Darren Cunningham, can turn their fortunes around.

    The ‘wounded animal’, as the coach was described by some fans, breathed new life into a side which appeared to be going nowhere fast.
