Burnfoot Community Hub has thrown open its doors for Diversity Week, with around 160 people attending two specially-arranged events.
Last Wednesday’s international food night comprised a fun-filled evening of trying scrumptious cuisine from India, Poland, Scotland, Syria and Turkey.
Organiser Lizzie Ireland, NHS Borders health improvement practitioner, said: “It was a fantastic event, with the community coming together by using food as a vehicle for engagement.”

The following evening, the reminisce Scottish night proved equally as popular, with traditional dancing, pictured, music and poems to the fore, as well as stovies and shortbread.
Ms Ireland added that the events had empowered the community while breaking down barriers to stigma and discrimination.
