    Nine get call-up for South to face Reds

    South of Scotland will play against Caledonia Reds at Stirling on Tuesday

    Nine Hawick players have been named in the South of Scotland squad for a match against Caledonia Reds at Bridgehaugh on Tuesday, November 7.

    Lewis Ferguson, Lee Armstrong, Greg Cottrell, Shawn Muir, Nicky Little, Matt Carryer, Dalton Redpath and Bruce McNeil are all in a 25- man squad selected by head coach Kevin Barrie of Jed-Forest which does not include any Melrose players after the Greenyards club declined to participate.

    Gala’s Gregor Hunter has been named captain.

    Last year in the corresponding fixture at Riverside Park, the South won 33-7. Proceeds from next month’s game will be going to Doddie Weir’s trust set up to support the fight against motor neurone disease.
