
Hawick conceded another ten tries and fell to their seventh defeat on the spin in the BT Premiership against Boroughmuir last Saturday, the heavy loss resulting in George Graham being promoted to head coach just 24 hours later.
After this latest setback Darren Cunningham, who was head coach until the weekend, Graham and president John Thorburn had a long chat on the touchline and it seemed clear that things were about to change.
The home side got off to a flying start. What was worrying for Hawick, not for the first time this season, was the ease with which the opposition brushed off tackles.
