    Completing a brutal ultra run is something to be proud of, but I’ll never attempt it again, says Kirsty Ash.

    Pamela Paxton and I decided last year we would take on this epic challenge, a 50-mile ultra run in under 24 hours. It was the toughest challenges I have ever done and one that will not be repeated.

    We might have been just about last, but we are both very proud of ourselves for finding the sheer determination to get through it.

    Three hundred and fifty five people started this race and only 275 finished it. Nearly a quarter had to retire or didn’t make the checkpoints in time, so to be one of the finishers is a huge achievement and one that we will never forget.
