As derby games go it was a pretty tame affair. There was little drama or blood and thunder stuff and at the end of it all, Hawick Royal Albert suffered their 11th defeat in 11 games.
Hawick came within quarter-of-an-hour of picking up their first point of the season.
But Gala Fairydean Rovers scored two goals in the last 15 minutes to take all three points for themselves.
Despite leaving it late with their strikes, Fairydean Rovers deserved their victory as they were the sharper and better side.
Royalists battled hard and are certainly improving.
