Three young Teries are proving to be a safe pair of hands for trainers who have put their trust in them to look after their prize assets ahead of big races in USA and Australia.
Carly Scott, 20, is spreading her wings in Kentucky this week after being sent there at short notice by her boss to look after one of his runners in a $1 million race.
And brothers Bruce and Chris Lynn, 17 and 20, are on their way to Australia with Iain Jardine’s Ebor Handicap winner Nakeeta for the Melbourne Cup.
Carly has been working for trainer David O’Meara at his yard near York since January 2015, but hasn’t had an assignment as daunting as this before.
She was sent out to the States by O’Meara to look after and prepare Seudois for this Saturday’s $1 million Shadwell Turf Mile at the famous Keeneland Racecourse. O’Meara also has Mondialiste running in the Shadwell Turf Mile. Carly flew over with Seudois last Saturday, and was only joined by her boss on Wednesday.
