Scottish Borders Council has reportedly issued a stern warning to utility companies following two weeks of “shambolic” roadworks in Sandbed, which left motorists, residents, and local businesses frustrated.

Councillor Watson McAteer said: “Senior management at Openreach and their contractor Circe have been contacted by SBC and reminded of their specific responsibilities as a statutory undertaker of roadworks.
