Tuesday’s Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) public meetings were branded “tick-box exercises”, while brigade officials said its proposal for Hawick was already working in around 80 per cent of Scotland.
The two meetings, held in the town hall at 2pm and 6pm, attracted a lower than expected attendance of 107, with views being sought on the “service delivery review option” for Hawick.
