    Top cop makes patrols pledge after incidents

    The region’s top police officer is this week pledging to deploy “additional patrols” in Hawick following two serious incidents in the town over consecutive weekends.

    Area Commander Chief Inspector Stuart Fletcher was commenting following a serious sexual assault on a female in Teviot Crescent last weekend, and the discovery of a man injured and unconscious in Mart Street on Saturday night.
